Summer birding at Bear Creek Greenbelt — July guided walk
Free guided summer bird walk along Bear Creek Greenbelt in Lakewood with Denver Audubon. Riparian woodland and active breeding season. Jul 1, 8:30–11 AM.
Why we picked this
July birding at Bear Creek Greenbelt is about nesting behavior — fewer species than spring, but better looks at birds actively raising young along the riparian corridor.
Denver Audubon leads a summer bird walk along Bear Creek Greenbelt in Lakewood — a riparian woodland corridor running through the southwest Denver metro. July is nesting season, so you’ll find resident species actively raising young rather than migrants passing through: yellow warblers, spotted towhees, various flycatchers, and the occasional riparian specialist.
The walk runs about 2.5 hours starting at 8:30am. All skill levels welcome. A $5 donation to support Audubon programs is appreciated but not required.
Meet at the Stone House Parking Lot at 2900 S Estes St in Lakewood. Register through the Denver Audubon event calendar.
