Kitchen volunteer morning shift at Project Angel Heart
Help prepare medically tailored meals in Project Angel Heart's kitchen. Morning shifts run Mon–Fri, 8:30–11:30am. New volunteer orientation required.
Why we picked this
Memorial Day week — the kitchen stays open and clients still need meals. A morning shift on May 25 is a meaningful way to spend part of a long weekend.
You’ll spend three hours in Project Angel Heart’s kitchen scooping, wrapping, and sealing medically tailored meals for Coloradans living with serious illnesses like cancer and ALS. Staff lead the kitchen; volunteers rotate through stations at a steady pace. Expect to be on your feet for most of the shift.
New volunteers need to complete a one-time orientation before their first kitchen shift. Saturday orientations run at 10am, take about an hour, and are available both in-person and virtually. After orientation, you book individual shifts through the CERVIS portal at volunteer.projectangelheart.org. Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little food on.
The kitchen is at 4925 Brighton Blvd in the RiNo neighborhood — parking is available on site. Morning shifts run Monday through Friday and slots are plentiful through September 2026, so finding a time that works for your schedule is easy.
