Kitchen volunteer morning shift at Project Angel Heart
Help cook medically tailored meals for Denver neighbors with serious illness. Morning shift 8:30–11:30 AM MDT. No experience needed; orientation required.
Why we picked this
Each person on the line handles a specific task — the coordination is smooth and the pace is steady. Good option if you want structured, purposeful work rather than open-ended volunteering.
In the morning kitchen shift, you’ll prep, assemble, and package medically tailored meals designed for people living with serious illnesses including cancer, HIV/AIDS, and kidney disease. Tasks are assigned when you arrive — scooping portions, wrapping items, sealing containers, and bagging completed meals. No culinary background is needed, and all equipment is provided.
Dress code matters here: wear closed-toe shoes and a long-sleeved or close-fitting shirt (no tank tops or open-toe sandals). Any hat style works, but a hat is required. Free parking is available on site at the RiNo kitchen on Brighton Blvd.
Before your first kitchen shift, you’ll need to complete a one-time new volunteer orientation — offered on Saturdays at 10:00 AM MDT, both in-person and virtually. Once you’re oriented, you can sign up for any available kitchen slot through the volunteer portal.
