Kitchen assistant morning shift at Project Angel Heart
Chop, blend, bake, and prep medically tailored meals in Project Angel Heart's Denver kitchen. Morning shifts run Monday–Friday, 8:30–11:30 AM. Ages 16+.
Why we picked this
Three hours of real kitchen work — chopping, scooping, baking — producing meals for people going through serious illness. Bring a hat and closed-toe shoes; everything else is provided.
Kitchen volunteers at Project Angel Heart chop vegetables, measure ingredients, stir, blend, bake, scoop, bag, and scrub — the full range of prep work that goes into producing medically tailored meals. Morning shifts run Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. You can sign up for individual dates or come weekly; hundreds of spots are open through fall 2026.
Dress code is specific: bring a hat or cap (any style, as long as it keeps hair back), a shirt with sleeves (no tank tops), and closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be tied back. All other equipment and instructions are provided on-site. The kitchen is at 4950 Washington St. in Denver. Free parking is available on site.
Project Angel Heart serves people with life-threatening illness in Colorado and Wyoming — patients who require specific nutrition as part of medical treatment. Kitchen volunteers are the core of that operation. Orientation is required before your first kitchen shift; you can sign up for orientation through the same portal.
