Kitchen volunteer afternoon shift at Project Angel Heart
Help cook medically tailored meals for Denver neighbors living with serious illness. Afternoon shift 1:00–4:00 PM. No experience needed; orientation required.
Why we picked this
The afternoon kitchen shift runs 1–4 PM and covers the same prep work as the morning — a good option if your schedule opens up later in the day.
You’ll prep, cook, and package medically tailored meals designed for people managing serious illnesses like cancer, HIV/AIDS, and kidney disease. Project Angel Heart delivers over a thousand meals each week across the Denver metro area, and every shift runs like a well-organized kitchen — tasks are assigned, aprons are provided, and no culinary experience is needed.
Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting a little food on. The kitchen is at 4925 E. Kentucky Ave in Denver. Street parking is available, and the building is accessible by bus. Arrive a few minutes early to sign in.
This is one of the most tangible volunteer experiences in Denver — you can see exactly how many meals you helped make before you leave.
