Kitchen volunteer afternoon shift at Project Angel Heart
Help cook medically tailored meals for Denver neighbors with serious illness. Afternoon shift 1:00–4:00 PM MDT. No experience needed; orientation required.
Why we picked this
Fourth week of August in the afternoon kitchen — summer's last full month at Project Angel Heart runs the same production schedule year-round.
The afternoon kitchen shift runs 1:00–4:00 PM and covers the same core work as the morning: prepping, assembling, and packaging medically tailored meals for Denver clients living with serious illnesses including cancer, HIV/AIDS, and kidney disease. Staff assigns tasks when you arrive — there’s no experience required and all equipment is provided.
Dress for a working kitchen: closed-toe shoes, a long-sleeved or close-fitting shirt (no tank tops), and a hat of any style. Free parking is available on site at the RiNo location on Brighton Blvd. The afternoon timing works well if your schedule opens up after midday.
Before your first shift, complete a one-time new volunteer orientation — held Saturdays at 10:00 AM MDT, with both in-person and virtual options. Once oriented, you can book any open afternoon slot through the volunteer portal.
