Kitchen volunteer afternoon shift at Project Angel Heart
Prepare medically tailored meals for Coloradans with serious illness. Afternoon kitchen shifts run Mon–Fri, 1–4pm. New volunteer orientation required.
Why we picked this
The afternoon kitchen run is the same work as the morning — wrapping and sealing hundreds of meals for homebound neighbors — for people who prefer a 1pm start.
Project Angel Heart’s afternoon kitchen shifts run Monday through Friday from 1–4pm at the Brighton Blvd facility in Denver. Volunteers scoop, wrap, and seal medically tailored meals for clients living with serious illnesses — the work is physical but well-organized, with staff guiding the flow and rotating volunteers through stations.
New volunteers must complete a one-time orientation before their first shift. Saturday orientations run at 10am and are available in person or virtually; after that you can book shifts directly through the CERVIS portal. Wear closed-toe shoes and work-appropriate clothes.
Afternoon shifts consistently have open spots through September 2026. The 4925 Brighton Blvd location has on-site parking.
