Why we picked this

If mornings don't work, the afternoon shift covers the same ground — meal prep, cleaning, and the particular satisfaction of seeing the prep table cleared by 4 PM.

The afternoon kitchen shift at Project Angel Heart runs Monday through Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Volunteers chop, slice, bag, scoop, stir, blend, bake, and clean — the same meal prep that happens in the mornings, now in the afternoon slot. New volunteer orientation is required before your first shift.

Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes suitable for a working kitchen. PAH supplies aprons and all tools. The kitchen is located at 4950 Washington St in Denver, with street parking available on Washington and adjacent blocks.

Every shift prepares meals that go out to people managing serious illness across three states. The afternoon crew fills the gaps left by the morning team and keeps production steady through the day.
