Kitchen assistant afternoon shift at Project Angel Heart
Help prep medically tailored meals in Project Angel Heart's Denver kitchen. Afternoon shifts run Monday–Friday, 1:00–4:00 PM. Ages 16+. No experience required.
Why we picked this
Same work as the morning kitchen shift, just later in the day — three hours of prep work producing meals for seriously ill neighbors, starting at 1 PM Monday through Friday.
Afternoon kitchen volunteers at Project Angel Heart do the same hands-on prep work as morning crews: chopping, scooping, baking, blending, bagging, and cleaning. The difference is the start time — 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Over 700 afternoon spots are open through fall 2026, so it’s easy to find a date that works.
Bring a hat, a sleeved shirt, and closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be tied back. All ingredients and instruction are provided. The kitchen is at 4950 Washington St. in Denver with on-site parking. Orientation is required for first-time volunteers and can be scheduled through the same portal.
Project Angel Heart produces thousands of medically tailored meals weekly for people with serious illness — the kind of meals that are part of a treatment plan, not just a hot lunch. Afternoon kitchen volunteers are one of the main reasons those meals get out the door each day.
