Distribution meal packing on Thursday mornings at Project Angel Heart
Pack and sort meal bags at Project Angel Heart's distribution center — making sure every client gets the right meal. Every Thursday, 9 AM–noon. Ages 13+ with guardian.
Why we picked this
Packing meal bags correctly is a puzzle that actually matters — the right meal reaching the right client depends on this step. It's detail-oriented work with real stakes.
Distribution volunteers solve what Project Angel Heart calls the meal puzzle: each client has specific dietary requirements, and the right meal has to end up in the right bag. You’ll sort, organize, and pack meal bags every Thursday morning from 9 AM to noon at the distribution center on Washington Street. The work requires attention to detail — this is not bulk packing where close enough is fine.
Ages 13 and up are welcome with a guardian; volunteers 16 and older can come independently. Over 200 spots are open through fall 2026. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are a good idea. The facility is at 4950 Washington St. in Denver with parking on site.
This shift is distinct from the kitchen role — distribution happens after meals are cooked, when bags are assembled for pickup and delivery. Both roles depend on each other, and distribution volunteers are often the last hands on a meal before it reaches a client at home.
