Why we picked this
The delivery driver role is one of the few volunteer jobs where you meet the people you're helping directly — PAH clients know their Friday drivers.
Friday meal delivery drivers pick up pre-packed meal bags at Project Angel Heart’s Denver facility and deliver them directly to clients living with serious illness. Shifts run from 9:30 AM to noon. You’ll drive your own route with a set list of addresses, and most routes take 1.5 to 2 hours. A personal vehicle and background check are required. New volunteer orientation must be completed before the first shift.
Wear comfortable clothes and bring your driver’s license. Parking at the main facility for pickup is straightforward on Friday mornings. PAH provides a route list and delivery instructions — no navigation experience needed beyond basic familiarity with Denver streets.
Delivery drivers are the only volunteers who meet PAH clients in person. For many clients who live alone or have limited mobility, this is a meaningful point of connection in their week.
